Virginia Services

Community Alternatives, Inc. provides a wide range of services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as those diagnosed with mental health issues. We have multiple locations throughout the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. We offer the following services:

Opportunities Unlimited Day Support Programs provide Medicaid Waiver- funded day placement for consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Small group settings allow individualized learning and community-integrated opportunities.

In-Home Programs provide in-home support services to adults and children with intellectual disabilities, mental illness and/or developmental disabilities which are often coupled with other medical challenges who live with family or other caretakers.

Supported Living Program (SLP) provides drop-in support for consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live in their own home or apartment.

Residential Programs provide single-house living. These are Medicaid Waiver-funded residential placements for consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities in small group home environments.

Vocational & Employment Services offer a variety of vocational assessment and work programs that provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Programs offered may be community-based, such as vocational assessment, job development, job placement and training, long-term follow-along and government contracts. Center-based programs include pre-vocational training, work skills/bench assembly, vocational assessment and day programming.

Ancillary Medical Services are available under the direction of a consumer's primary care physician. These services are provided by professionally trained staff and may include:

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Limited Skilled Nursing
  • Speech Therapy

Community Alternatives Management Group Inc. (CAMG Inc.) provides quality housing for individuals and/or families who are homeless and have disabilities, mental health concerns or HIV/AIDS. CAMG is responsible for property maintenance; submitting, receiving and managing grants; HUD compliance, and overseeing the Supported Housing Services Program (SHS), which serves individuals with mental health diagnoses, substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.
